Editing Designs
What can I edit in my design/file?
Not every aspect of the designs are editable and they vary between products.
Please review the 'Overview' tab in the listing description of your product as this will have important information on what you can and cannot edit.
Some editable PDF products will have an image with blue fields showing you the areas you can edit.
Corjl designs also have a demo link in the description. You can view the product to clarify editing options prior to purchase.
How do I edit a PDF?
First up, ensure you are purchasing an editable PDF. The standard ready-to-print PDFs are NOT editable.
I totally get that customising a PDF can be daunting if you've never done it before! I have had many newbies purchase my products over the years.
Don't worry, there are instructions with your purchase.
When you open the PDF, it will have blue fields to indicate what areas can be edited. Don't worry, the blue is on screen only and won't print out.
Simply type in these areas with your text, save and print your file.
See further below for common troubleshooting issues when editing a PDF.
How do I edit a Corjl template?
Your purchase comes with instructions on editing your template.
Here are some resources:
Corjl Getting Started Quick Guide
If you haven't purchased the file as yet, each Corjl product has a demo link in the description. You can view the product and familiarise yourself with the editing software prior to adding to your cart.
Can I create more pages/designs with my Corjl template?
Yes! Absolutely! There are no limits on how many designs you can create.
This must be done prior to downloading as you cannot edit the file once it's downloaded. There may also be download limits on the design.
To create as many different pages/designs as you need prior to downloading:
Edit your first page/design as you would like then simply click the "Duplicate Pages" icon at the top of the screen.
When you hover over the icons, the mouse will prompt you with the name of each. You can use the arrow icons to toggle between the pages.
I am having trouble editing my PDF file?
These are some of the most common problems I find customers run into when editing PDF files:
1. Ensure you are on a computer.
These files must be edited on a computer/laptop. They are not compatible with ipad, tablet or mobile devices.
2. Save the file to your computer's directory before editing.
Some downloads will open in an internet browser window but still require to be saved to your computer before attempting to edit.
3. Use Adobe Reader (not another software)
Adobe Reader is free to download. Most people already have this installed on their computer but you can download Adobe Reader here.
Check you are using the correct software and do not use any other PDF viewing software programs besides Adobe Reader (Foxit, PDF Viewer etc).
4. Is Adobe Reader up to date?
To check this, in Adobe Reader click:
Help > Check for Updates
5. Download the file again
Try re-downloading the file again. Occasionally files become corrupt during the download process and simply starting again is all that is needed.
6. Refer to your initial purchase
Your purchase comes with instructions, please look these over. If you cannot find a solution, simply reply to your purchase confirmation (or shoot me an email) so I can help you.
I am having trouble editing my Corjl design?
This actually rarely ever happens. There are plenty of instructions to help you, including within the editing screen of your design.

Printing Files
Where can I print my designs?
All designs and file types can be printed on your home computer!
If you have a Corjl template, some items can be printed through their print service. If your item is suitable, after editing the design, they will give you this choice.
All files are compatible with most online and in-store print services.
Over the years I have had a few instances with print services being incompatible with particular file formats (jpeg, pdf etc). This is well below 1% of orders and very uncommon.
For more information refer to 'Why am I having trouble printing at a print service?' question below.

How do I increase the size of my design?
If you wish to increase the size of your design, you will lose print quality and have a blurry or pixelated printout. You can generally increase the size by a small amount before a reduction in quality. However I do not recommend increasing the size.
You can of course scale the size down, smaller.
You can do this by changing the Custom Scale percentage setting in your print dialogue box.
Can I print 8.5x11" to A4 paper size?
Yes you can!
Standard Ready-to-Print & Editable PDF Files
Many of my PDF files are US Letter (8.5x11") but they can still be printed to A4.
I typically recommend using the 'Actual Size' setting in your printer dialogue box. This will work in most cases. Some full page designs may be affected.
Prior to printing, check the preview in your Printer Dialogue box to ensure it isn't cutting off the edge of the design. If it is, use the 'Fit' setting instead of 'Actual Size'. This will usually reduce the size by 1-2%
Editable Corjl Templates
For editable Corjl listings, during the download PDF process you can select your paper size from the "Paper Size" drop-down menu. These include US Letter, A4 and more.
Why am I having trouble printing at a print service?
All files are compatible with most online and in-store print services.
JPEG Files
Depending on your location, I have found several services may be incompatible with some JPEG files (excludes JPEG files from Corjl). This is very uncommon, and you may need to choose a different service. Services this may include are: Bay Photo, Snapfish, and Walgreens.
PDF Files
My PDF files are password protected to prevent editing of the overall design (with exception to any intended editable fields).
Some designers password protect PDF files to prevent printing but my files can still be printed. Sometimes an in-store printer may see the password protected notice in Adobe and assume the file will not print.
This is simply a notice and not an error. The file can still be printed and the password will not actually effect printing.
Why isn't my design printing at the correct size?
This is a simple printer setting. Whilst printer settings vary between manufacturers, look for something similar to 'Actual Size' or scale at 100% in your print dialogue box.
